Gear Guidelines

Section 7 | Gear Guidelines


7.1 Handgun Regulations: Troopers are only permitted to use the Shield 9 & Glock 17. These are expected to be what Troopers carry around while on patrol.

7.2 Rifle & Heavy Weapon Regulations: Troopers are permitted to keep M4A1 Rifles & Fabarm FP6 Shotguns inside the trunk of their patrol vehicle. These are only to be taken out for necessary situations, Special Weapons and Tactics members are excused from this policy (Whilst on duty as SWAT.).

7.3 Tactical Gear: The use of any tactical gear is prohibited, these include the battering ram, ballistic shield, & any other SWAT gear. On duty SWAT members are excused from this policy.

7.3 Additional Gear: Troopers are allowed to carry any of the items listed below with them or in their trunk.

  • Handcuffs (Required*)

  • Taser (Recommended- Non-Lethal)

  • Pepper Spray (Recommended- Non-Lethal)

  • Baton (Recommended- Non-Lethal)

  • MDT (Required)

  • Citation Book (Required)

  • Cones (Required)

  • Flashlight (Recommended)

  • Police Barricade/Crowd Fence (Trunk)

  • Spike Strips/Stopsticks (Recommended - Trunk)

  • Radar Gun (Recommended)

  • Beanbag Shotgun (Recommended - Non-Lethal)

  • Flares

  • Police Tape

  • Evidence Markers

  • Surveillance Drone (CPT+)

  • Riot Shield (SWAT/CPT+ Only - Trunk)

  • Battering Ram (SWAT/CPT+ Only - Trunk)
